Holy Week and Easter are the culmination of the Church’s liturgical year, when we celebrate the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. Make your Holy Week more meaningful in 2018. Join A Blessed Holy Week in the Shrines of Lourdes and Fatima Pilgrimage in commemoration of the 160th Anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes leaving on March 27, 2018.

Your pilgrimage begins in Lourdes, France, the most famous healing shrine in the world, and one of the most visited of all pilgrimage sites.  Celebrate the 160th anniversary of the Lourdes apparitions where St. Bernadette reported the first of 18 visions of Our Lady on February 11, 1858. Offer your prayer petitions at the Grotto of Massabielle, the famous apparition site, where Our Lady revealed herself as the Immaculate Conception. During her 9th apparition, St. Bernadette was directed to a spring that exists until today. Miraculous cures have been associated with Lourdes ever since and today the town welcomes more than five million pilgrims to its healing waters every year.

Leave France for Spain, where you will spend overnight in Valladolid, a city steeped with an array of stunning palaces and churches from the middle ages to the 1700s. Celebrate Mass at the Valladolid Cathedral or the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Holy Assumption, an awe-inspiring church built in 1527.

Onwards to Fatima in Portugal, where you will spend two nights at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, one of the most beloved Marian shrines in the world. The fame of this place is the result of the apparitions of Our Lady to three shepherd children – Lucia, and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta – between May and October 1917. Not to be missed is the candlelight, rosary procession, a special walk you will share with thousands of pilgrims from around the world. Then cap off your pilgrimage with a Mass at the Church of St. Anthony de Padua in Lisbon, Portugal, built on the site where the saint was born.

Immerse yourself in the spiritual grace of Lourdes and Fatima. Join a Blessed Holy Week in the Shrines of Lourdes and Fatima Marian Pilgrimage with a Pilgrimage Chaplain leaving on March 27, 2018. Let this journey of faith with Mary, the Mother of God, bring you closer to Jesus as you reflect on his passion, death and resurrection during Holy Week.

Things We Love

  • Join a moving evening Rosary and Candlelight procession in Lourdes and Fatima where the “Ave Maria” is sung in unison in different languages.
  • Find time to immerse yourself in the Baths in Lourdes where water from a spring at the Grotto of Massabielle flows.
  • Light a candle in every pilgrimage site  for prayer requests of friends and families back home.
  • Enjoy scenic bus rides through the countryside of Portugal, Spain and France.  An excellent opportunity for reflection, relaxation and bonding time with fellow pilgrims.
  • Discover Bartres, a picturesque little village in the mountains, and its surroundings where St. Bernadette Soubirous spent her childhood.

Things To Do

  • VISIT

Visit the Betharram Shrine in France, where the Virgin Mary is celebrated with three very popular names: Our Lady of the Star, Our Lady of the Wayside, and Our Lady of Betharram.

  • REFLECT

Reflect on the message of Fatima on your visit to this holy place. Fatima’s message is an exhortation to prayer as the pathway to salvation, and  the summons to penance and conversion.

  • SHOP

Shop for rosaries, medals and other religious souvenir items while on pilgrimage and then let your pilgrimage chaplain bless them before going home.

  • WRITE

Ask your friends to write their prayer petitions on a piece of paper which you can drop in a box  at the Grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes, France.

  • CONFESSION

Find time to go to confession during the pilgrimage and be reconciled with God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Testimonials

I am honored to be included in this pilgrimage. The Pilgrims' Center has very good itineraries worth remembering. No hours wasted. They took very good care of us in spite of our big number of 47 people. The daily mass and homilies of Fr. Manny Cruz held in different shrines and churches were very inspirational and transforming. Accommodations were nice most especially the one on top of the Mountain with an awesome view built in 1909. It's like travelling back in time. I definitely would want to do it again with Pilgrim Center.
