Let the cool breeze and tranquil surroundings invite you to slow down and savor the simple rhythms of island life. Then, proceed to Naidi Hills and visit the iconic Basco Lighthouse, which offers panoramic views of Batan Island, its rugged coastline, and the vast Pacific beyond.
Travel to San Vicente Port and board a faluwa, the traditional Ivatan boat, for the crossing to Sabtang Island. Celebrate Holy Mass at San Vicente Ferrer Church, more commonly known as Sabtang Church, before continuing to the charming village of Chavayan and its quaint Santa Rosa de Lima Chapel.
The journey across Sabtang continues with a visit to the Sabtang Weavers Association, where skilled artisans preserve the centuries-old craft of weaving the traditional Ivatan vakul. Enjoy the breathtaking vistas at Chamantad–Tinyang Viewpoint, where towering cliffs and rolling hills overlook the waters of Chamantad Cove. Explore Savidug, a picturesque village lined with well-preserved stone houses, and pass by the historic Idjang Fortress along the way. No visit to Sabtang would be complete without stopping at Morong Beach, home to the famous Mahayaw, or Nakabuang Arch, one of Batanes’ most recognizable landmarks. The pilgrimage then proceeds to the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, a peaceful sanctuary nestled amid Batanes’ natural beauty. Afterwards, make your way to Racuh Apayaman, popularly known as “Marlboro Country,” and admire its breathtaking landscape of rolling hills, rugged cliffs, and sweeping sea views, where horses, cattle, and water buffaloes roam freely.
The journey continues to Imnajbu, a village deeply woven into the Christian heritage of Batanes. Visit the San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel, which stands on the site where the first Mass on the islands was celebrated in 1682, marking the arrival of the Catholic faith in the province.

Later, set out for the charming Mount Carmel Chapel in Basco, a sanctuary built in the traditional Ivatan style and perched between the West Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Inside, admire the chapel’s beautifully painted ceiling, adorned with frescoes of Batanes’ saints created by talented Ivatan artists.
