Feast of St. Mary Magdalene

21 Jul

St. Mary Magdalene highlighted Christ’s mercy towards a woman who was exploited and despised by those who believed they were righteous, but she was loved and forgiven by him.

Dubbed as the Apostle of the Apostles, St. Mary Magdalene was the first to witness Christ’s resurrection on Easter. She showed great love for Christ and was much loved by Christ. Her tears at Christ’s empty tomb are a reminder that sometimes in our lives, tears are the lenses we need to see Jesus.

The Feast of St. Mary Magdalene on July 22, is a lesson for all Christians to trust in Christ who is alive and risen.

~ Pope Francis

Prayer to Saint Mary Magdalene

Saint Mary Magdalene, a woman of many sins, who by conversion became the beloved of Jesus,
thank you for your witness that Jesus forgives through the miracle of love.

You, who already possess eternal happiness in His glorious presence, please intercede for me, so that someday I may share in the same everlasting joy.

Amen.
