The Pilgrimage began with a prayer of thanksgiving upon arrival at the Laguindingan airport in Cagayan de Oro led by Pilgrimage Chaplain, Fr. Angelo Te.

From the airport, the group enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Panagatan restaurant in Opol, Misamis Oriental.

First Mass was celebrated at the Divine Mercy Church at the Shrine of the Divine Mercy in El Salvador, Misamis Oriental.

En route to the Monastery of the Transfiguration, Fr. Angelo and our pilgrims had a photo stop at the Tourism Center of the Municipality of Impasug-ong in Bukidnon. This eye catching landmark features a gigantic headdress, the dancers of the Kaamulan Tribe and the well-known cowboys of Impasug-ong.

Fr. Angelo Te celebrated Mass in the prayer hall of the Monastery of the Transfiguration. Here is a group photo with Fr. Columbano Adag, Prior of the Monastery of the Transfiguration.

The stunning pyramid-like structure of the Church of the Monastery of the Transfiguration designed by Leandro Locsin, National Artist for Architecture, truly so unique and distinct from other churches in the country.

An added attraction to the monastery is their two-storey museum which houses the vestment collection of monk Fr. Dom Martin Gomez, a famous couturier in the ’70s who dressed former first lady Imelda Marcos. Included in his works are vestments made of piña and abaca fiber.

Fr. Angelo Te and the group stayed at the Dahilayan Forest Resort Park, a relaxing place that boasts of some of the most pristine landscape imaginable.

“In the midst of what is happening to us, there is always something to be grateful for. God is always with us.”
