Jordan, Egypt, & Holy Land
Fr. Luciano Ariel Felloni is a diocesan priest based in Kristong Hari Parish, Diocese of Novaliches. He was born and raised in Argentina but has Italian roots. After studying for three years in the seminary in Argentina, he was sent to the Philippines, where he finished his studies and got ordained as a priest. He has been in the Philippines for almost thirty years now He is proud to say that while his blood, surname, and nose are Italian, his heart is very Pinoy. In fact he said that he is more fluent in Tagalog than in English because he came from a country where English is not the normal medium of instruction.
Fr. Felloni is the man behind AlmuSalita, a whole-day companion with the word of God. Every morning, Fr. Felloni shares the readings and reflections for the gospel for the day. He encourages his listeners to become cybermissionaries by sharing his videos and making the word of the Lord go viral!
The journey to see the Land of the Bible is unlike any other. It is a living tour of where your faith began. Take a walk in the same place that Jesus was born, lived and rose. Join a 13-day Pilgrimage to the Land of the Bible (Jordan, the Holy Land, and Egypt) with Fr. Luciano Felloni on November 14–26, 2023.
Begin your pilgrimage in Jordan to visit the ancient lost city of Petra. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the world’s most stunning archaeological sites. Walk through the 2 km. Siq, the only access to this city, is literally carved directly into the vibrant red, white, pink, and sandstone cliffs.
Leave Jordan for Israel by crossing the Sheikh Hussein border. Visit Nazareth, the childhood home of Jesus, and Mount Tabor, where he was transfigured in the presence of Peter, James, and John. Not to be missed is the delightful boat ride across the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus miraculously walked on water.
While on pilgrimage, pilgrims will have the opportunity to renew their baptismal vows at the Jordan River and their marriage vows at the Church of the First Miracle in Cana. Continue on to Bethlehem, the holy city where Jesus was born. Touch the silver star, which marks the exact place where he was born.
The next stop is Jerusalem, a holy city for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. In the heart of the Holy Land, Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead. Take a meaningful walk through the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrows), where you can trace His steps and reflect on Jesus’ suffering and death. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is said to have been built on Golgotha, also known as Calvary, the site of Jesus’ crucifixion. Pass by Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
Leave Israel by crossing the Taba border into Egypt. Drive to the Sinai Peninsula for a visit to St. Catherine Monastery, situated at the foot of Mount Sinai. Mount Sinai, referred to as the Mountain of Moses, is believed to be the place where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God. Proceed to Cairo, the cradle of civilization. Turn back the clock to the time of ancient Egypt on your visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, two of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Peruse one of the world’s most important collections of ancient artifacts, including the glittering treasures of Tutankhamun and other great pharoahs, at the Egyptian Museum.
Retrace the steps where Mary and Joseph walked thousands of years ago. Visit the 4th-century Saints Sergius and Bacchus church, which sits above a cave where the Holy Family is believed to have stayed at the end of their flight into Egypt.
A pilgrimage to the Land of the Bible never really ends. Long after you have returned home and resumed your everyday routines, you will revisit these places every time you pray the rosary and at every mass. Embark on an unforgettable spiritual journey. Join a 13-day Pilgrimage to the Land of the Bible (Jordan, the Holy Land, and Egypt) with Fr. Luciano Felloni on November 14-26, 2023.
