About Your Pilgrimage

The Pope has called Mary the supreme witness of hope, as she held steadfast to her trust in God, even in the midst of her Son’s agonizing crucifixion. Marian shrines, therefore, serve as sacred spaces for the renewal of hope during this Jubilee year. Visit beloved sites of Marian apparitions and strengthen your relationship with Jesus through Mary. Join a 16-day Pilgrimage to the Great Marian Shrines of Europe (Belgium, France, Spain, and Portugal) with a Pilgrimage Chaplain led by Bro. Bo Sanchez on September 23-October 8, 2025.

Begin your pilgrimage with a Mass at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels, Belgium. Also known as the Brussels Cathedral, this medieval sanctuary is one of the finest examples of Brabantine Gothic architecture. It is recognized as one of the most important monuments in the city.  Enjoy a full-day guided tour of the city, which includes a visit to the Grand Place, the central square of Brussels and one of the most beautiful squares in Europe.

Head off to BanneauxBelgium, to visit the Shrine of the Virgin of the Poor. Here, the Blessed Mother appeared eight times to a young girl, Marietta Beco. A chapel was built in her honor where a sacred spring exists, which has brought healing to numerous pilgrims. Next stop is Beauraing, to celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Beauraing, where Our Lady is also known as the Virgin with the Golden Heart. At this place, Our Lady appeared 33 times to five children, to whom she promised conversion of sinners.

Journey on to the romantic city of Paris, France.  Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city, which includes a visit and Mass at the Church of the Miraculous Medal. From Paris, travel down south to Nevers and visit the St. Gildard Convent, where the incorrupt body of St. Bernadette Soubirous lies. Travel onwards to Paray Le Monial, the home town of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Leave for Ars to visit the Basilica of Ars, where you will find the reliquary containing the body of St. Jean Marie Vianney, patron saint of priests.

Head for La Sallete for your two-night stay at the breathtakingly beautiful Sanctuary of Notre Dame of La Salette, an apparition site of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The message of La Salette focuses on the conversion of all humanity to Christ through daily prayer and frequent reception of the sacraments of penance and the Eucharist.

En route to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, stop by the Shrine of Our Lady of Laus. At this place, our Blessed Mother revealed herself in Laus as the Reconciler and Refuge of Sinners. Arrive in Lourdes to catch the evening Rosary and Candlelight procession. Spend time in quiet reflection at the Grotto of Massabielle, the Blessed Virgin’s apparition site. Make sure to find time to bathe in the Baths where 70 healings were reported and confirmed by the Catholic Church.

Leave France for Spain to visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Arantzazu, where St. Ignatius of Loyola spent a night in vigil and made his vow of chastity.  For Ignatius, it was a time of great grace for strengthening his resolve to follow Christ. Still in Spain, travel to Burgos to celebrate Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Burgos, also known as Burgos Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its Gothic architecture.

Wind down your pilgrimage in Fatima, Portugal, and spend two nights at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima. Here, Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children — Lucia and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta – between May and October 1917. Celebrate Mass at the Chapel of Apparitions, an open-air chapel built on the site of the appearances.

During the 2025 Jubilee Year, the Catholic Church invites the faithful to embark on a pious pilgrimage and receive the special Jubilee Indulgence. While many pilgrims travel to Italy, the Church has also designated numerous sacred sites worldwide where pilgrims can participate in the Jubilee and obtain the indulgence. Join a Pilgrimage to the Great Marian Shrines of Europe (Belgium, France, Spain, and Portugal) with a Pilgrimage Chaplain led by Bro. Bo Sanchez on September 23 – October 8, 2025. May this journey deepen your faith and allow you to experience God’s infinite love and mercy.
