About Your Pilgrimage

The provinces of Iloilo and Capiz became a Spanish settlement in the 16th century. Steeped in history and rich culture, one can find numerous sites of religious devotion in these places.  Journey back in time and trace the Christian roots of the island of Panay. Embark on a 5-day Pilgrimage to Roxas and Iloilo with Fr. Ryan Barrios leaving on August 14, 2019.

Your pilgrimage begins in Roxas City, the capital of Capiz province. Enjoy a delightful tour of the Roxas churches and landmarks. Celebrate Mass at Santa Monica Church, one of the oldest churches in the Philippines, built in 1774. The church, which was declared a national landmark by the National Historical Institute of the Philippines, is also home to the largest Catholic Church bell in the Philippines and Asia. The Bell of Panay is made from 70 sacks of gold coins donated by the people of Panay. When it rings, the sound can be heard several kilometres away.  Proceed to visit the Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Completed in 2015 and situated at the top of the hill, the gigantic state of the Sacred Heart is the tallest of its kind in the Philippines.

From Roxas City, enjoy a delightful drive to Iloilo City. Visit La Paz Church where the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage is enshrined. Honored for more than a century at the parish, Our Lady had enjoyed the love and affection of her devotees.  Visit heaven on earth at the awesome Garin Farm of San Joaquin, a unique yet enchanting blend of nature, spirituality and leisure. Spend time in prayer at the Pilgrimage Hill which features the story of Creation up to Christ’s ascension.

Head for the Church of Saint Thomas of Villanova, commonly known as the Miagao Church. The church is famous for the painstakingly detailed sculptural relief on its pediment. Built in 1731, it is considered as one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. The church was designated as one of the best examples of the Baroque Churches of the Philippines and included in the list of World Heritage sites by UNESCO.

Get some rest and relaxation during a full day Guimaras Island Tour. Celebrate Mass in the chapel of the Our Lady of the Philippines Monastery, the only Trappist monastery in the Philippines under the Cistercian Order.

From Guimaras, head for the Jaro District, the seat of Catholicism in Western Visayas. Visit the Parish of St. Anne in Molo, which bears Gothic-Renaissance architecture. Also known as the “Feminist Church” or the “Church of Women,” Molo Church is distinctively hemmed by 16 women saints. Continue on to the Jaro Cathedral, also one of the oldest churches in the country. The Jaro Church or Church of St. Elizabeth of Hungary is also the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Candles.

Take time and make time to pray. Join a Pilgrimage to Roxas and Iloilo with Fr. Ryan Barrios leaving on August 14, 2019. Catch a glimpse of our storied past and discover the rich cultural heritage of these beautiful cities.

Things We Love

  • Roxas City is a hall of famer in the cleanest and greenest cities in the Philippines.
  • The majestic, grandiose and elegant Miagao Church is bedecked with intricate motifs, including the image of a saint carrying Jesus while holding on to a coconut tree.
  • Mangoes from Guimaras is well known worldwide as the sweetest mangoes on earth!
  • The stunning Nuestra Senora de la Paz y Buen Viaje Church (Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Church in La Paz) is an awesome showcase of Ilonggo artistry. It is a preferred wedding church among locals.

Things To Do

  • CLIMB.

In order to see the bell of Panay, you must climb a steep flight of stairs. But for those who cannot make it, then you can just check out the replica located at the side of the Church.

  • BOW.

Upon entering the spiritual area of the Garin Farm, you will come across the signage that reminds you: Humility is the Key to Eternity. You will need to bow upon passing at the low entrance to show reverence to the Divine.

  • RIDE.

Enjoy fresh sea air on your boat ride from Iloilo to Guimaras.

Venerate the miraculous and third oldest Sto. Nino image in the country at the Sto. Nino de Arevalo Parish in Iloilo.

Our pilgrimage was worth all the hardships (I was having leg pains). We had an excellent leader in the person of Adrian, two priests Fathers Val and Ron, who gave us very nice pieces of advice and homilies, and of course the members of the group who were all very nice. Looking forward to join another pilgrimage.

Vir & I would like to express our gratitude for a wonderful pilgrimage we had from Sept 5-18. From checking-in last Sept 5 & all during the tour, we felt the care from a family. No words can ever describe how thankful we are.I almost cried last Sept 8, (my birthday) when we (2 of us have the same birthday) were given a surprise mini celebration when after our dinner, we were given a cake. I really felt the love of a family then. All these things made possible because of your capable coordinator Ms. Ging Igual. She's such a wonderful leader. Kudos to her.Rest assured that i will refer your company to all my friends who are planning to go on pilgrimage .Good day & may God always guide & protect all of you in the Pilgrims' Center/ Executive Resources, Inc.Cora FrancaPilgrim

Dear Pilgrims' Center:My husband Aldo & I would like to praise & commend our Pilgrim Chaplain Fr. Dante Venus & our Tour Leader Bro. Monty for the very successful & memorable pilgrimage to Italy & the Holy Land we were very fortunate to join on March 26-April 8, 2018.It was very hectic to be sure, but still they managed our time very well that we were able to visit more places than was promised in the itinerary, and we are very appreciative of that. Likewise, the solemnity of the whole pilgrimage experience was still observed despite many of us in the group, myself included, often forgetting that we were pilgrims & not tourists 😉😉, taking photos, selfies, etc. instead of, or before focusing on what the local guide was explaining or on the scripture readings. I cannot fault us pilgrims on this because for many of us seniors, and I speak for my husband & I, that trip might be our first & last time to visit those places, so we made sure they were properly documented. Nonetheless, it was a truly spiritually uplifting & life-changing experience for us. We continue to thank our Lord for making that experience of a lifetime possible. Indeed, nothing is impossible for God! Thank you very much to Fr. Dante, Bro. Monty & to each of us pilgrims in the group for the prayers, love, care & concern shown to each other. Let us continue to pray for and with each other. It is my hope that we meet each other again soon, to strengthen our bonds of friendships. Most sincerely, Leclec Cabusora

I am honored to be included in this pilgrimage. The Pilgrims' Center has very good itineraries worth remembering. No hours wasted. They took very good care of us in spite of our big number of 47 people. The daily mass and homilies of Fr. Manny Cruz held in different shrines and churches were very inspirational and transforming. Accommodations were nice most especially the one on top of the Mountain with an awesome view built in 1909. It's like travelling back in time. I definitely would want to do it again with Pilgrim Center.

The Pilgrims' Center always gives you the best. They let you feel like an Executive in terms of personal service & attention especially during pilgrimage. Their choices of pilgrimages and pilgrim chaplains are outstanding. You go back home very fulfilled and immersed...
