The Great Pyramid of Khufu at the Giza Pyramids Complex stands as one of the earliest and greatest wonders of the world!
Embark on an Egyptian adventure to discover the fascinating history, legendary landmarks, and breathtaking scenery brimming with undiscovered treasures. Cruise the epic Nile River on board a luxurious 5-star cruise ship. Join a 10-day Praycation to Egypt with Nile Cruise with a Pilgrimage Chaplain on March 10-29, 2025.
Begin your praycation in Cairo, the cradle of civilization. Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, two of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and travel back in time to the era of ancient Egypt. Explore the Egypt Museum’s impressive collection of ancient artifacts, which includes the brilliant treasures of Tutankhamun and other legendary pharoahs. To walk around the museum is to embark on an adventure through time.
Make your way to Alexandria, the second-largest city in Egypt. Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Alexandria was once the capital of the Mediterranean Empire. Alexandria is the heart of the Roman culture and the ancient Roman sites after the reign of Alexander the Great. Visit the city’s major sights in Alexandria such as the Roman Theater, the Old Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the Alexandria Library, the Qaytbay Citadel, and El Mursi Abu Elabas. The Great Library of Alexandria was one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world. Alexandria came to be regarded as the capital of knowledge and learning, in part because of the Great Library.
From Cairo, take a local flight to Luxor, where you will board your five-star cruise ship and set sail on your Nile River Cruise. Cross to the West Bank to visit the Karnak Temple and the Temple of Luxor. Still in Luxor, visit the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of Queen Hatshepsut. Return to your Nile cruise for lunch and start navigation to Edfu, passing through Esna Lock. Visit Edfu’s Temple of Horu, one of the best-preserved ancient Egyptian temples on the Nile, before sailing to Kom Ombo. Visit the Kom Ombo Temple shared by the two gods Sobek and Haroeris.
In Aswan, embark on an exciting tour to explore the impressive temples built by Ramses II in Abu Simbel, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The twin temples of Abu Simbel were originally carved out of the mountainside in the 13th century BC during the reign of Pharoah Ramesses II.
End your Nile River Cruise in Aswan and take a local flight back to Cairo to see one of the most famous and oldest churches in Cairo, the Church of the Virgin Mary, better known by its nickname, the Hanging Church, and the Crypt, where the Holy Family was believed to have rested from their journey to Israel.
Take time off to pray, relax, and recharge while on a 10-day Praycation to Egypt with Nile Cruise with a Pilgrimage Chaplain on March 10-29, 2025. May this be a wonderful time of reconnecting with God and enjoying the wonders of ancient civilization in Egypt, one of the world’s bucket list destinations.
