The province of Bicol is well known as one of the major pilgrimage sites in the Philippines. Center of the 300-year old devotion to the Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia, Naga has been declared as Pilgrim City of the Philippines, the only city of its kind. Century-old churches and historical sites, mouthwatering cuisine and Mount Mayon awaits you in this unforgettable 4-day pilgrimage to Bicol with Fr. Gerard Deveza leaving on October 26, 2018.

Your pilgrimage will begin with a Mass at the Penafrancia Basilica Minore in Naga City. Home to the original image of the miraculous the Virgin of Penafrancia, the Basilica boasts of large stained-glass windows depicting the highlights in the more than 300-year old devotion to the Patroness of Bicolandia, lovingly called by the locals as “Ina”(Mother). Visit major sites in Naga such as the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral, Holy Rosary Minor Seminary. Proceed to Joroan, to visit the patroness of Albay, Our Lady of Salvation. Onwards to Nabua to visit the Holy Cross Parish. Founded in 1578, the parish of Nabua was one of the first established in the region. Spend the night in Sorsogon.

Marvel at the wonders of nature that Sorsogon has to offer. Nestled at the foot of the active Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon province, Bulusan Lake’s landscape is lush, its surroundings quiet except for the occasional rustling of leaves, the gentle paddling from canoes, and the distant chirping of birds. Visit the Divine Healer Academy, founded by pilgrimage chaplain, Fr. Gerard Deveza, and his friends in 2002.

Onwards to Albay to view the stunning Mayon Volcano, the world’s most symmetrical volcano. Mayon Volcano is undoubtedly the icon of Bicol and is the most famous of the 7 volcanoes of the region. Visit Cagsawa Ruins, remains of a 17th century church built by the Franciscans, which was destroyed by an eruption of Mount Mayon in 1814. The site was declared a national cultural treasure in 2015.

Continue your pilgrimage with a visit to Daraga Church or the Church of Nuestra Senora de la Porteria (Our Lady of the Gate), the crowning glory of religious architecture in the province of Albay. Stop by the Cathedral of St. Gregory the Great, also called the Albay Cathedral, the Episcopal seat of the Diocese of Legazpi.

Cap off your pilgrimage with a visit to Mayon Skyline to enjoy awesome panoramic views of Mayon Volcano, Pacific Ocean, and its surrounding towns, lakes and mountains.

Join millions of pilgrims who have paid homage to “Ina” (Our Lady of Penafrancia). Embark on a 4-day Pilgrimage to Bicol with Fr. Gerard Deveza leaving on October 26, 2018. Let this spiritual journey be an opportune time to enrich your spirit and give you strength to face life’s daily challenges.

Things We Love

  • Be inspired by the homilies and loving kindness of healing priest, Fr. Gerard Deveza.
  • Marvel at the awe-inspiring St. Joseph Parish Church or Barcelona Church in Sorsogon, considered as one of the most beautiful churches in the Bicol Region.
  • Enjoy a scenic ride up the eastern slope of Mount Mayon, accessed through Tabaco City, on the way up to Mayon Skyline.
  • Catch a glimpse of history on your visit to Ateneo de Naga University, which served as a Japanese garrison during World War II.
  • Surrounded by thickly endowed flora and fauna, Bulusan Lake is a welcome respite from the concrete jungle of city life.

Things To Do

  • VIEW.

The stained-glass window at the Basilica Minore de Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia in Naga is the largest in the country and even larger than the North Rose window of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris

  • PHOTO.

Make sure to take a souvenir photo of the classic view of Mayon Volcano with the Cagsawa belfry in front that has graced thousands of postcards and souvenirs over the years.

  • INDULGE.

DJC Halo Halo in Albay is reputed to serve the best halo halo in the country. Rumor has it that the special ice they use is made from coconut juice! Yummy!

  • DIP.

Ease away your tired muscles and take a dip in San Mateo Hot Spring Resort in Sorsogon.

  • HONOR.

Plaza Quince Martires or “The Fifteen Martyrs” is a place that commemorates Filipino patriots in Bicol during the Philippine Revolution against Spain.

Testimonials

Vir & I would like to express our gratitude for a wonderful pilgrimage we had from Sept 5-18. From checking-in last Sept 5 & all during the tour, we felt the care from a family. No words can ever describe how thankful we are. I almost cried last Sept 8, (my birthday) when we (2 of us have the same birthday) were given a surprise mini celebration when after our dinner, we were given a cake. I really felt the love of a family then. All these things made possible because of your capable coordinator Ms. Ging Igual. She's such a wonderful leader. Kudos to her. Rest assured that i will refer your company to all my friends who are planning to go on pilgrimage . Good day & may God always guide & protect all of you in the Pilgrims' Center/ Executive Resources, Inc. Cora Franca Pilgrim

Cora and Vir Franca

Dear Pilgrims' Center: My husband Aldo & I would like to praise & commend our Pilgrim Chaplain Fr. Dante Venus & our Tour Leader Bro. Monty for the very successful & memorable pilgrimage to Italy & the Holy Land we were very fortunate to join on March 26-April 8, 2018. It was very hectic to be sure, but still they managed our time very well that we were able to visit more places than was promised in the itinerary, and we are very appreciative of that. Likewise, the solemnity of the whole pilgrimage experience was still observed despite many of us in the group, myself included, often forgetting that we were pilgrims & not tourists 😉😉, taking photos, selfies, etc. instead of, or before focusing on what the local guide was explaining or on the scripture readings. I cannot fault us pilgrims on this because for many of us seniors, and I speak for my husband & I, that trip might be our first & last time to visit those places, so we made sure they were properly documented. Nonetheless, it was a truly spiritually uplifting & life-changing experience for us. We continue to thank our Lord for making that experience of a lifetime possible. Indeed, nothing is impossible for God! Thank you very much to Fr. Dante, Bro. Monty & to each of us pilgrims in the group for the prayers, love, care & concern shown to each other. Let us continue to pray for and with each other. It is my hope that we meet each other again soon, to strengthen our bonds of friendships. Most sincerely, Leclec Cabusora

I am honored to be included in this pilgrimage. The Pilgrims' Center has very good itineraries worth remembering. No hours wasted. They took very good care of us in spite of our big number of 47 people. The daily mass and homilies of Fr. Manny Cruz held in different shrines and churches were very inspirational and transforming. Accommodations were nice most especially the one on top of the Mountain with an awesome view built in 1909. It's like travelling back in time. I definitely would want to do it again with Pilgrim Center.
