“Pilgrimage to shrines is an eloquent expression of trust in God. I urge all who have the opportunity to visit a Marian shrine to venerate our heavenly Mother. It is Mary who shows us that being followers of Jesus involves listening to His Word.”
~ Pope Francis

Your pilgrimage begins with a Mass at the Church of St. Anthony in Lisbon, Portugal. The Church of St. Anthony was built on the site where St. Anthony of Lisbon (also known as St. Anthony of Padua) was born in 1195. Across is the Lisbon Cathedral, where St. Anthony was baptized. Travel onwards to Fatima, where you will spend two nights at the Sanctuary of Our Lady ofFatima. The fame of this place is the result of the apparitions of Our Lady of the Rosary to three shepherd children – Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta.

Celebrate Mass at the Chapel of Conversion, where St. Ignatius was converted while convalescing after an injury in battle.
Onwards to Lourdes, France, to visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Lying in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the sanctuary is the site of an apparition of the Blessed Mother seen by Bernadette Soubirous, who was later on canonized. Lourdes Water has become a focus of devotion to the Blessed Mother at Lourdes. Since the apparitions, numerous people have claimed to have been cured by drinking or bathing in it. The 70th Lourdes miracle was officially recognized by the Catholic Church last 2018. Pray the rosary and spend time in quiet reflection at the Grotto of Massabielle, the Blessed Mother’s apparition site. Not to be missed is the evening rosary procession, where “Ave Maria” is sung in unison and the rosary is recited in different languages.

Enjoy a delightful tour of the city that includes a cruise on the River Seine. Celebrate Mass at the Chapel of Our Lady ofthe Miraculous Medal in Rue de Bac, an important place of prayer and pilgrimage that draws believers from all over the world who wish to prayerfully reflect and ask for the Virgin Mary’s protection.

Celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls, built over the tomb of St. Paul, followed by a guided tour of the Basilica. Have a chance to see Pope Francis up close during the Papal Blessing in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican. Visit the Basilica of St. Peter built over the tomb of the apostle and see the Pieta, a world famous Renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo.
